What does deforestation have an impact on? Deforestation affects many different things. Clearing away forests and trees is having a huge impact on the environment. Some may ask how exactly it is being affected and how severe it is.
Deforestation is affecting the environment in three main areas. The most severe reason is that it is causing the loss of animal and plant life due to the loss of environment. By losing habitats, we are not only losing the animal and plant species that we know, we are potentially losing species that are still unknown (Effects of). Another thing that deforestation is causing is a drier atmosphere. Trees help keep the water level in the atmosphere normal because it regulates the water cycle, but with the loss of trees the atmosphere is becoming drier, potentially leading to a drought (Effects of). Lastly, deforestation is causing a larger amount of greenhouse gases to be released. This could lead to a severe problem because the more trees we lose, the more oxygen we are losing (Effects of).
In conclusion, deforestation is taking a huge toll on the environment. Actions to stop our planet’s trees from being cut down need to be made before we have severe environmental issues.
