Who Is Helping Stop It?

Updated: Mar 28, 2019

After learning about the pros and cons of deforestation, how it affects nature, and how it is impacting the environment, it is obvious that steps need to be taken to put this world issue to a stop. Since this is such a wide-spread issue, one group of people is not going to be enough, so who or what organizations are trying to stop deforestation and why?

Surprisingly, there are quite a few of organizations trying to put a stop to deforestation. A few of the more well-known organizations include L’Oréal, Hershey, and Disney. L’Oréal is trying to stop deforestation by making all of their products from 100 percent renewable materials. By doing this, they hope to inspire others into taking actions against deforestation (Good). Along with L’Oréal, Hershey is trying to help stop deforestation by making sure all of their palm oil comes from sustainable resources (Good). Lastly, Disney is the world’s largest publisher of books and magazines for children and they have dropped all of their paper suppliers that are linked to deforestation (Good).

To conclude, the more and more people that are aware of deforestation and try to stop it, the more likely it is that something will be done. If world-wide well-known companies are making efforts to try and stop deforestation, maybe we should to. Help put deforestation to an end. Your actions can make a difference!
